Vermilion, also spelled vermillion, when found naturally-occurring, is an opaque reddish orange pigment, used since antiquity, originally derived from the powdered mineral cinnabar. Chemically the pigment is mercuric sulfide, HgS. Like all mercury compounds it is toxic.

Today vermilion is most commonly produced artificially by reacting mercury with molten sulphur, in which case it may also be known as vermilion substitute. Most naturally produced vermilion comes from cinnabar mined in China, giving rise to its alternative name of China red.

[era bastante obvio, el color vermillón tiene esas característicasd.s.. pero mi duda era por Lord of Vermillion del RO]

    Ah:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/0_(number)

0 (zero), alternatively called naught, nil, nada, ought, zilch, zip, nothing or nought, is both a number and a numeral. It was the last numeral to be created in most numerical systems, as it is not a counting number (which is to say, one begins counting at the number 1) and was in many eras and places represented only by a gap or mark very different from the other numerals.

A bitch is a female dog or other member of the canidae family. In colloquial use, the word bitch is often employed in a metaphorical sense to either insult a woman, or to describe a woman who is malicious, spiteful, domineering, intrusive, and/or unpleasant. It may also be used to refer to an effeminate male. The former specialised meaning is retained and in widespread use among dog aficionados and breeders, but derogatory usage has become so prevalent in the last century that the term has acquired a profane connotation and is often considered unacceptable by broadcasting regulations and Standards & Practices manuals.

By extension, the adjective "bitchy" — unpleasant, fretful or querulous — and the verb "to bitch" — to complain, especially habitually and without any helpful intentions — are also used, although they are widely considered less offensive than the noun. The verb "to bitch" also has a slang definition: to humiliate or subjugate another, as in "Ali totally bitched Foreman during the Rumble in the Jungle". Neither the adjective or the verb are normally used in formal language.

The early — and largely still extant — usage of bitch as a sexually available person has been extended to imply subservience towards the user. In the context of prison sexuality, a bitch is a lower-hierarchy prisoner, typically physically weak or vulnerable, who is dominated by more senior prisoners and forced to adopt a servile role. According to convention, these inmates are used as sexual slaves or traded as personal property. To call a male a "bitch" usually suggests that he is sexually passive in this manner, whether or not he is gay. As a result, calling a man a "bitch" can now imply a general passivity or timidity that, while not necessarily sexual, is still very much an insult.

      [edit]
      My Bitch
The phrase "my bitch" is used when the woman or homosexual is claimed to be available sexually to a particular person, rather than to anyone. This implies that the subject is tied to a relationship which is controlled by another, dominant, party. This can also be used in a non-sexual way; the phrase "You're my bitch!" implies that one is a servant or slave. Also, if a homosexual inmate wants another to have anal sex with him, he will say, "You're my bitch!". A dominant woman can also refer to a male (or female) as her "bitch". There is also a song by the late Notorious B.I.G. entitled "Me and My Bitch."

However, it should be noted that the phrase "my bitch" can also be used jocular and/or endearing (i.e. the aforementioned rap song), depending on context and intonation

Vertical bar, vertical line or pipe is the name of the ASCII character at position 124 (decimal). The character is depicted as either a solid vertical bar ("|") or a vertical bar with a break in the middle (broken bar "¦"). The character is usually depicted as a broken bar on IBM PC keyboards to distinguish it from other characters. However, in Unicode the "broken bar" is a separate character, U+00A6 (&brvbar.

              Teoria de las supercuerdas
Superstring theory is an attempt to explain all of the particles and fundamental forces of nature in one theory by modeling them as vibrations of tiny supersymmetric strings. It is considered one of the most promising candidate theories of quantum gravity. Superstring theory is a shorthand for "supersymmetric string theory" because unlike bosonic string theory, it is the version of string theory that incorporates fermions and supersymmetry.

The deepest problem in theoretical physics is harmonizing the theory of general relativity, which describes gravitation and applies to large-scale structures (stars, galaxies, super clusters), with quantum mechanics which describes the other three fundamental forces acting on the microscopic scale.

The development of a quantum field theory of a force invariably results in infinite (and therefore useless) probabilities. Physicists have developed mathematical techniques (renormalization) to eliminate these infinities which work for the electromagnetic, strong nuclear and weak nuclear forces, but not gravity. Thus the development of a quantum theory of gravity must come
about by different means than were used for the other forces.

Google Inc. (NASDAQ: GOOG) is a U.S. public corporation, first incorporated as a privately held corporation in September 1998, that designs and manages the Internet Google search engine. The company employs approximately 5,700 employees and is based in Mountain View, California. Eric Schmidt, formerly chief executive officer of Novell, was named Google's CEO when co-founder Larry Page stepped down.

The name "Google" is a play on the word "googol," which refers to the number represented by 1 followed by one hundred zeros. As a further play on this, Google's headquarters, located in California, are referred to as "the Googleplex" — a googolplex being 1 followed by a googol of zeros, and the HQ being a complex of buildings (cf. multiplex, cineplex, etc).

Google's services are run on several server farms, each consisting of many thousand low-cost commodity computers running stripped-down versions of Linux. While the company does not provide detailed information about its hardware, it was estimated in 2005 that they were using over 100,000 Linux machines. See Google platform for more details on their technology.

Google began as a research project in January 1996 [1] by Larry Page and Sergey Brin, two Ph.D. students at Stanford. They hypothesized that a search engine that analyzed the relationships between Web sites would produce better results than existing techniques. (Contemporary search engines essentially ranked results according to how many times the search term appeared on a page.) It was originally nicknamed BackRub because the system checked backlinks to estimate a site's importance. (A small search engine called RankDex was already exploring a similar strategy. [citation needed])

Convinced that the pages with the most links to them from other highly relevant Web pages must be the most relevant pages associated with the search, Page and Brin tested their thesis as part of their studies, and laid the foundation for their search engine. Originally the search engine used the Stanford website with the domain google.stanford.edu. The domain google.com was registered on September 15, 1997. They formally incorporated their company, Google Inc., on September 7, 1998 at a friend's garage in Menlo Park, California.

In March 1999, the company moved into offices at 165 University Avenue in Palo Alto, home to a number of other noted Silicon Valley technology startups. Google received a big break in 1999 when one of the most popular search engines, AltaVista, relaunched itself as a user Web entry point, or portal. This unexpected change alienated part of AltaVista's user base. Google quickly outgrew its University Avenue home. After outgrowing two subsequent sites, the company settled into a complex of buildings in Mountain View at 1600 Amphitheater Parkway, in 2003. Silicon Graphics leased these buildings to Google. The Google search engine attracted a loyal following among the growing number of Internet users. They were attracted to its simple, uncluttered, clean design — a competitive advantage to attract users who did not wish to enter searches on web pages filled with visual distractions. This appearance, while imitating the early AltaVista, had behind it Google's unique search capabilities. In 2000, Google began selling advertisements associated with the search keyword to produce enhanced search results for the user. This strategy was important for increasing advertising revenue, which is based upon the number of "hits" users make upon ads. The ads were text-based in order to maintain an uncluttered page design and to maximize page loading speed. It also only cost a very small amount per click to the websites that advertised this way. The model of selling keyword advertising was originally pioneered by Goto.com (renamed Overture, and now Yahoo! Search Marketing)[2]. While many of its dot-com rivals failed in the new Internet marketplace, Google quietly rose in stature while generating revenue.

U.S. Patent 6,285,999 describing Google's ranking mechanism (PageRank) was granted on September 4, 2001. The patent was officially assigned to Stanford University and lists Lawrence Page as the inventor.

In February 2003, Google acquired Pyra Labs, owner of Blogger, a pioneering and leading weblog hosting Web site. Some analysts considered the acquisition inconsistent with Google's business model. However, the acquisition secured the company's competitive ability to use information gleaned from blog postings to improve the speed and relevance of articles contained in a companion product to the search engine, Google News.

At its peak in early 2004, Google handled upwards of 84.7 percent of all search requests on the World Wide Web through its Web site and through its partnerships with other Internet clients like Yahoo!, AOL, and CNN.[3] In February 2004, Yahoo! dropped its partnership with Google, providing an independent search engine of its own. This cost Google some marketshare, yet Yahoo!'s move highlighted Google's own distinctiveness, and today the verb "to google" has entered a number of languages (first as a slang verb and now as a standard word), meaning "to perform a web search" (a possible indication of "Google" becoming a genericized trademark).

Google's declared code of conduct is "Don't Be Evil", a phrase which they went so far as to include in their prospectus (aka "red herring" or "S-1") for their IPO, noting "We believe strongly that in the long term, we will be better served — as shareholders and in all other ways — by a company that does good things for the world even if we forgo some short term gains."Some controversy has occurred over Google's decision to adhere to the Internet censorship policy in mainland China, colloquially known as "The Great Firewall of China". Google.cn search results are filtered so as not to bring up any results concerning the Tiananmen Square protests of 1989, sites supporting the independence movements of Tibet and Taiwan or the Falun Gong movement, and other information perceived to be harmful to the People's Republic of China. This is interpreted by some activists as against the "Don't Be Evil" spirit.

The Google site includes humorous features such as cartoon modifications [4] of the Google logo to recognize special occasions and anniversaries. Known as "Google Doodles," most have been drawn by Google's international webmaster, Dennis Hwang [5]. Not only may decorative drawings be attached to the logo, but as well the font design may mimic a fictional or humorous language such as the Star Trek Klingon[6] and Leet[7]. The logo is notorious among web users for April Fool's Day tie-ins and jokes about the company.

Analysts speculate that Google's response to its separation from Yahoo! will be to continue to make technical and visual enhancements to personalized searches, using the personal data that is gathering from Orkut, Gmail, and Froogle to produce unique results based on the user. Frequently, new Google enhancements or products appear in its inventory. Google Labs, the experimental section of Google.com, helps Google maximize its relationships with its users by including them in the beta development, design and testing stages of new products and enhancements of already existing ones.

David Falco Berkowitz born June 1, 1953 in Brooklyn, New York, better known by his nickname The Son of Sam, is an infamous serial killer who killed six people and wounded several others in the late 1970s. His given name was David Falco— Berkowitz was the name of his adoptive parents. His birth parents were Betty Broder, who grew up into a poor Jewish family, and Tony Falco, an Italian-American Catholic.

The "Son of Sam" nickname came from neighbor Sam Carr. According to Berkowitz, Sam Carr was a "high demon" who sent his "evil" Labrador Retriever to command Berkowitz to kill. He would later shoot the dog following one of his murders; the dog survived and Berkowitz now asserts that he made the story up.

Fire, a form of combustion, is a chemical reaction involving two or more chemicals where the molecules will readily react with each other to form additional chemicals. Linguistically, the word fire refers to the combination of the brilliant glow and large amount of heat released during a rapid, self-sustaining burning of combustible fuel. Fire is not a state of matter: rather, it is an exothermic oxidation process by which heat and light energy are given out. Fire starts when a fuel with adequate supply of oxygen or other oxidizer is subjected to enough heat, and it is sustained by the further release of heat energy in the process, as well as a continuous supply of oxygen and combustible fuel. A match or lighter is usually used to start a fire, which can then propagate to other combustibles because matches and lighters are designed with materials of low burning point. Fire is extinguished when one or more elements of heat, oxidizer, or fuel is removed; this concept is used in the fire triangle. The unburnable solid remains of a fire are termed ash.

Flames can conduct electricity, as a small portion of any fire is ionized. This has been demonstrated in the laboratory and also in large wildfires that occur in the vicinity of power lines. This ability to conduct electricity is due to its partially plasmaic nature.
