Bueno, logré ubicar el mail de una capa en Canon europa y le escribí esto:

I don't know if you are the right person for this enquiry but I couldn't find another one.
Precisly that is one of my complains, Canon doesn't provide customers with a way to tell what they want in the segment they consume.

I'm an electronic engeneer consumer of superzoom Canon Camaras, already owned: A75, S1, S2, S5 and SX10, each of them was better than the previous one, but now, for the first time, my SX20 lacks of minor features S5/ SX10 had: (Audio only recording, and photo review for as long as you hold Shoot)
A lot worst is with brand new SX30: No AA batteries support, no direct 52mm filter hold, 14mPixels without elarging sensor
is worthless, still lack of RAW (an independent program CHDK may cover that though)

So I'm quite dissapointed and won't buy newer canon camaras in this category. I wish I could get in touch with the design team
so I can tell them what I want. There should be a website with a questionare of wanted features, your sales would improve.
Don't forget that your company relies on us.

    Thanks, Isidro C

PS: Please forward this mail to whoever correspond, high level
Canon executives should think about this kind of things in all
    of the products.

      A lo que milagrosamente contestó:

      Dear Isidro,

Thank-you for getting in touch. I actually look after the media on behalf of Canon Europe but I will try and help.

In fact we are very keen in finding out what it is our customers want and we invest a great deal in market research to attempt to garner opinion about the features which the majority of people wish to see.

I have forwarded your email to the DSC team here at Canon Europe so that your ideas can be fed back into the design process and they have come back to me on some of your points - ' The old cameras never had a filter attachment, the rings on the end of the barrel were for the lens cap and were not a screw thread. Using them for filters would have damaged the
product. We now have a lens filter adapter for the SX30 IS which takes all 67mm filters. Our intensive research and knowledge of the market shows that our customers demand lithium ion battery packs in preference to AA batteries.
Not many of the predecessors in the range had RAW support because our research shows that the customers do not want it at this level. The addition of any feature always adds cost to the product. Again, at this level, customers are demanding more megapixels in order to capture more detail.'

The design team strongly recommend that you give the SX30 IS a go because -
'The 14MP G series PowerShot G10 gained critical acclaim for its image quality - even in comparison to lower megapixel competitors. We always ensure that if we implement a feature we do not compromise and the image quality always achieves a high standard for which we are renowned. In our range we offer customers the choice of great high detail with 14MP or superior low light capability from 10MP HS System cameras. In the SX30 IS, our strong demand for higher megapixels resulted in the product you see today and of which we are incredibly proud.'

I hope you will consider buying Canon again in the future.

      Kind regards,
      Katie

Como me dieron bola ampié un poco más en detalle lo que quiero:

Thank you for answering my mail, respect of your answer:
          * I had a SX-10 and now a SX-20 and had carefully attached an UV filter
for lens protection so it's threads are good for once in a lifetime use.
          * Respect AA vs Li-ion is a discussed matter, AA haters had bad quality
batteries, Canon should ship with a rechargable set.
          - In my trips I carry GPS, flashlight and camara all powerede by AAs only
ONE charger for all of them, Nimh AA batteries are far less expensive and
easy to find than a Li-ion, I like to have at least 3 full charged set for
my camara. So it's lighter to carry one charger and spares for all of my
          devices.
          - Ecological: Batteries that are no good for camara can still be used
for the flashlight, Li-ions has no further use.
          - Capacity: Canon NB-7L has 7.4V x 1050mAh= 7.77 Watts/h; 4xAA has
          4 x 1.2V x 2500maH= 12 Watts/h, with my SX-20 I filmed an entire 2.5 hours
concert in HD on one set of AAs.
          - It's bad for a Li-ion to keep it stored at 100% charge, but that's exactly
what you want for the back-up battery.
          - Li-ions degrade with time, regardless of usage.
          - Eventually Canon should make an hybrid power of one Li-ion or 3xAA in
same compartment, new LSD NiMH AAs are better than Li-ion in all aspects.
          - This kind of camaras aren't fighting for smaller size, Li-ion is pointless.
          - Discussion about this matter: http://forums.steves-digicams.com/ba...-ion-v-aa.html

Sensor size is critical for better pics, unfortunately the better sensor
          went to G12 (10mPix 1/1.7inch= 23mPix/cm2), SX10,SX20,SX30 share same 1/2.3"
size so density rises with resolution in each model (35,46,49 mPix/cm2)
more density means more noise, so 14mPixels in SX30 is worst than 10mPix
          in G12. But G12 doesn't have a good zoom.
          - Further reading: http://www.laesieworks.com/digicom/MP.html
          and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image_sensor_format

Me as a lot of users had chosen Canon because of CHDK unofficial addon
which adds a lot of functions to your camaras (with a lot of programing
efforts of the users), thanks to them I can use scripts as timers or
saving RAW. It's a mistake to believe users of this kind of camara don't
want advanced functions. We can't afford to risk a Reflex professional
equipment in our daily camara use, but we wish our equipment to be as
near as posible to those. Having those functions are just firmware options
with no hardware cost. Thing I wish to see:

          - Audio only recording. Manual audio level
          - external stereo mic input!
          * Interval shooting (N pics every X sec)
          - Choose FPS for filming (10,15,30,60,...)
          - Mics are (anologically) saturated on rock concerts, should be less sensible.
          * RAW
          * Shoot when pic changes
          * hardware info: Temperatures, bat voltage, internal RAM, free mem, etc
          - bigger sensor for better quality
          - night vision (sony had some sort of night mode)
          - 52/58mm filter mount
          - AA batteries
          - manual ring in lens for zoom and/or focus and/or exposure

          ( * can be done with CHDK: http://chdk.wikia.com/wiki/CHDK )

As I see, Fuji has won in almost all aspects with their new model:
Finepix Hs-10: 30x manual zoom, fullHD and up to 1000FPS, AA bateries,
RAW, up to 10fps photos, 58mm filter mount:

Fuji defects: mono mic, small sensor (but better density than sx30), high
speed FPS limited to 30secs with no audio.

I wish canon would make a model that surpasses the one Fuji made, until then
I'll stick with my SX-20+CHDK which is better than SX30 from my point of view.

            Dear Isidro,

Thanks again for your thoughts. As I said previously I look after the media for Canon Europe so don't have any say in product specs but I have once again forwarded your thoughts to the DSC team so that they can take your points on board. Can I please reassure you again that we do try to cater for as many of our customers as possible with each of our product releases because of course we want to sell our cameras! Because of this we invest heavily in market research and our product releases reflect our findings of customer's most prevalent demands, unfortunately we can't offer each customer their exact needs but please be assured that we try our best.

If you have any further comments or queries can I suggest that you get in touch with our consumer product support service as they may be better placed to help you find the best product for your needs - http://www.canon-europe.com/Support/...ort/Index.aspx

La canon puede usar pilas AA con un accesorio: "With Battery Grip BG-E5, AA-size batteries can be used"
La nikon tiene pantalla de menor resolución, pero se puede inclinar.
